Blue-crowned Hanging-Parrot

A tiny, mostly green parrot with a bright blue crown patch and red rump and throat, notable for roosting hanging upside-down, bat-like, from branches.

Feeds on nectar, pollen, fruit and blossom high in the canopy, usually detected first by its high, sharp calls as small flocks fly rapidly overhead.
