A slender, harmless snake with an unusually long, thin tail relative to its body, the sole member of its genus and closely related to the more familiar wolf snakes (Lycodon).
Nocturnal, hunting lizards and other small vertebrates on the forest floor and in low vegetation; non-venomous and of no danger to people, though quick to strike defensively if handled.
