A tiny slender litter frog restricted to the Kinabalu region, part of the genus Leptolalax, a group of small, cryptically brown frogs closely related to the dwarf litter frogs (Leptobrachella) but generally slightly larger.
Found in leaf litter near montane streams, calling at night with a soft, insect-like note; like most Leptolalax, field identification against related species generally requires a recorded call or close examination.
