A soft grey-coated rat and the only member of its genus, found in lowland forest across Sundaland but recorded infrequently enough that much of its basic biology remains undescribed.
Presumed nocturnal and arboreal to semi-arboreal, foraging for fruit, seeds and insects. Rarely reported on standard wildlife surveys.
