A large, pale grey shrike with black mask and wings and a long black-and-white tail, breeding across the temperate Palearctic and recorded in Borneo only as a Rare/Accidental vagrant far outside its normal range.
A powerful predator for its size, taking large insects and small vertebrates from a watchful perch, and any Borneo record represents an exceptional wandering individual rather than an established occurrence.
