Black Eagle

A large, all-dark eagle with long, broad wings held in a shallow V while soaring low over the canopy — a distinctive flight silhouette used to flush prey from nests and dense cover.

Specialises in raiding nests of birds and squirrels, gliding slowly and persistently just above the treetops. Found in hill and montane forest, including around Kinabalu Park.
