A small flying squirrel named for a distinct grey patch on the cheek, otherwise broadly similar in build to other small Hylopetes gliding squirrels found in Sabah.
Nocturnal, gliding short distances between trees in lowland forest and feeding on leaves and fruit. Best located by careful spotlighting, though small size makes it easy to miss.
