A Bornean-endemic pitta with a striking combination of black, gold and blue plumage, one of the most sought-after ground birds for visiting birders given its vivid colours and elusive habits.
Forages on the forest floor for invertebrates, hopping through leaf litter, and is best located by its distinctive whistled call followed by careful, patient scanning of the forest floor.
