A Hydrophis sea snake with distinct banding, venomous, found in coastal waters — not to be confused with the amphibious, egg-laying sea kraits, which are in a different genus.

Feeds on fish, fully marine with a paddle-shaped tail, essentially unable to move effectively on land.
