A long-toed waterbird that walks across floating vegetation, with breeding adults sporting a long black tail and golden hindneck contrasting white foreneck.
Found on lily-covered ponds and marshes across Borneo's lowlands, with females larger than males and, typical for jacanas, leaving egg incubation and chick-rearing to the male.
