Diadem Roundleaf Bat

A distinctive insectivorous bat with an elaborate horseshoe-and-leaflet-shaped noseleaf used to focus its echolocation calls, and a robust body for its family — one of the larger roundleaf bats in the region.

Roosts in caves, hollow trees and sometimes buildings by day, emerging at dusk to hunt flying insects on the wing using echolocation. Recorded at Deramakot Forest Reserve, among other Sabah forest sites.
