One of the largest forest geckos in Southeast Asia, with a robust body and mottled camouflage pattern, found on large tree trunks in undisturbed forest.

Nocturnal, hunting large insects and occasionally small vertebrates, and generally more forest-dependent than the smaller, more adaptable house gecko species.
