A large gecko with distinctly warty, tuberculate skin texture, found on tree trunks and buildings in forest and forest-edge habitat.

Nocturnal, hunting large insects, and generally bulkier and more heavily built than the smaller, smoother-skinned Hemidactylus house geckos.
