A large, heavily built snipe with a long straight bill and cryptic, boldly striped brown plumage that provides excellent camouflage in grass.
A rare and accidental passage migrant through Borneo, and considered near-threatened, with small numbers occasionally recorded stopping over in wet grassy habitats.
