A fast, agile falcon with long scythe-like wings, dark upperparts, heavily streaked underparts and rufous thighs, an exceptional flier that catches dragonflies and swifts on the wing.
Recorded in Borneo only as a rare or accidental straggler well south of its usual wintering grounds in South Asia and Africa, most likely to appear on open ground during migration season.
