A large, robust, coppery-brown skink, one of the most frequently seen reptiles in Sabah, basking openly in sunny clearings, gardens and forest edge.
Diurnal and heliothermic (actively basking to raise body temperature), feeding on invertebrates, and tolerant of disturbed and human-modified habitat more than most Bornean skinks.
