A small, boldly coloured broadbill with a black head, yellow collar and pink-tinged underparts, one of the more frequently seen broadbills in Sabah's lowland forest.
Feeds on insects gleaned from foliage, often in pairs, and builds a distinctive hanging nest with a side entrance, suspended from a branch over a trail or stream.
