A brilliantly coloured parrotfinch with an emerald-green body, scarlet face and rump, and elongated central tail feathers, found in grassland and scrubby forest edge.
Moves in small nomadic flocks tracking the seeding of bamboo and grasses, and its bright plumage and pointed tail make it one of the more distinctive small birds of Borneo's grassy habitats.
