A medium-sized fruit bat with a long, brush-tipped tongue adapted for feeding on nectar, and — as the name suggests — a strong association with cave roosts, sometimes in large colonies.
Nocturnal, feeding on nectar and pollen from a wide range of flowering trees, and considered an important pollinator, including for some economically valuable crop species such as durian in parts of Southeast Asia.
