An unusual, boldly patterned wagtail that walks quietly on shaded forest floors rather than the open ground typical of its relatives, occurring in Borneo as a winter visitor to lowland and hill forest.
Distinctive for its sideways tail-swinging motion rather than the up-down bobbing of other wagtails, and forages methodically through leaf litter for insects.
