A long-necked, upright duck with a chestnut body, dark crown and pale flanks, named for its wandering, wheezy whistling calls given in flight and at rest.
Highly social, gathering in large flocks on lakes and flooded grassland, and found locally around Borneo's wetlands where it grazes on aquatic vegetation.
