One of the most familiar and widespread sunbirds in the region, males with an olive back and a black stripe down a bright yellow throat and breast.
Extremely adaptable, breeding readily in gardens and urban areas as well as natural habitats, building distinctive hanging nests and visiting a wide range of flowering plants.
