Storm's Stork

One of the rarest storks in the world, with a global population estimated in the low thousands, found almost exclusively in undisturbed lowland and swamp forest along rivers in Sumatra and Borneo.

Usually seen singly or in pairs, perched in tall riverside trees or soaring on thermals above the canopy. Kinabatangan and Trusan Sugut are among the more consistent sites for this genuinely rare and highly sought-after species.
