Western Tarsier

One of the smallest primates in the world, easily identified by its enormous eyes (each larger than its brain), long hind legs adapted for powerful vertical leaping, and a tail tipped with a tuft of fur. Almost entirely nocturnal.

An exclusively carnivorous primate, hunting insects and small vertebrates by sight and sound, then leaping onto prey from a vertical cling on a sapling or vine. Best found on night walks or night drives with a spotlight, when its eyeshine gives away its position in low vegetation.
