Reticulated Python

One of the longest snakes in the world, with confirmed individuals exceeding 6m and unverified claims of considerably more — a powerful non-venomous constrictor found near water in forest, plantations and even around villages.

An ambush predator, taking prey up to the size of deer and pigs by constriction, generally most active at night. Large individuals are capable of inflicting serious harm to a human, though unprovoked attacks are rare; always keep a respectful distance and never handle a large individual.
