Jerdon's Baza

A slim, crested raptor of forest and forest edge, with barred underparts and a distinctive shaggy crest, feeding on a varied diet including large insects, small reptiles and amphibians.

Generally an uncommon and unobtrusive sighting, most often seen perched quietly within the canopy or in slow, gliding flight over the forest.
