A heavily streaked, olive-brown spiderhunter with a long decurved bill, common along forest edge, secondary growth and cultivated areas.
Feeds on nectar from flowering trees and gingers as well as small spiders and insects, and is one of the more frequently encountered spiderhunters in disturbed habitats.
