Oriental Pied-Hornbill

The most widespread and adaptable hornbill in the region, with bold black-and-white plumage and a large pale casque, tolerant of forest edge, riverside and even semi-urban habitat.

Feeds on fruit, insects and small vertebrates, often in pairs, and is generally the most reliable hornbill sighting for visitors given its tolerance of disturbed habitat.
