A slim-bodied stream toad in the genus Ansonia, unusual among toads for being active by day, found on rocks and low vegetation beside fast-flowing hill streams.

Feeds on small invertebrates along the stream edge, and its slender build and stream-side habit clearly separate it from the bulkier, nocturnal true toads.
