A large brownish dabbling duck with a pale face, dark eye-stripe and a distinctive black bill tipped bright yellow, closely resembling other spot-billed ducks.
Breeds across East Asia and winters into parts of Southeast Asia, reaching Borneo only rarely as an accidental visitor outside its main wintering range.
