A larger, longer-legged sand-plover than its Lesser counterpart, with a heavier bill and more attenuated rear-end profile.
Regularly recorded on Borneo's coastal mudflats and beaches during the northern winter, typically in smaller numbers than the more abundant Lesser Sand Plover.
