A large, spectacular, Bornean-endemic cuckoo with glossy blue-black plumage, a bright blue facial patch and a long tail, almost entirely terrestrial in habit.
Forages on the forest floor for large insects and small vertebrates, extremely shy and considered one of the most difficult-to-see endemic birds on the island.
