About the Western Tarsier

One of the smallest primates in the world, easily identified by its enormous eyes (each larger than its brain), long hind legs adapted for powerful vertical leaping, and a tail tipped with a tuft of fur. Almost entirely nocturnal.

An exclusively carnivorous primate, hunting insects and small vertebrates by sight and sound, then leaping onto prey from a vertical cling on a sapling or vine. Best found on night walks or night drives with a spotlight, although unlike most nocturnal mammals its large eyes do not reflect a spotlight, so it is hard to pick out in low vegetation and is usually found by sound and movement.
